Creative Manifestos of Migrant Women in Santiago, Chile

This exhibition aims to highlight aspects of the migratory experience—both current and historical—that shape our present. It is the result of a reflective and creative work done collaboratively with five migrant women residing in Santiago, Chile. The participants were called upon and guided by Laboratorio Matraz, an artistic and experimental workspace that facilitates content related to territory and society through various formats such as research, diagnosis, analysis, and artistic production, with the goal of fostering critical citizen reflection on specific phenomena to contribute to the complexity of public discussion.

In this proposal, a series of in-person and reflective meetings were held around a central theme: the journey through a series of fundamental concepts that are currently assumed as inherent to the migration experience. The aim was to create space for a critical analysis of these concepts, based on the migratory experiences of each participant, and their deep feelings and knowledge connected to them.
