Hugo Leonello

Visual artist, visual arts advisor and producer. Hugo studied visual arts at the University of Chile. His work is part of important private and public collections, like the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chile and the Fomento Económico Mexicano in Mexico. His artwork has been exhibited in Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Argentina, Spain, France and the United States, both individually and collectively. His most important museum exhibitions have been held at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chile), the National Fine Arts Museum (Chile), the Rufino Tamayo Museum (Mexico), the Diego Rivera Museum (Mexico), and the Borges Cultural Center (Argentina), among others.
In his works Hugo uses media and techniques like installation, video, sculpture, painting and drawing, reflecting on his biography in exile, as well as interventions and discoveries carried out between Mexico and Chile. He also questions, through his artistic practice, the construction and legacy of conflicts, values and cultural traumas.
