The Emerging Images
April 2023
The word “emerging” does not appear in the Spanish Royal Academy dictionary, but it is used specially to talk about water that springs from the earth. The Spanish word for score, “partitura”, literally means a “set of parts.” These scores bring images to light when we face them “with our eyes focused on something that cannot be seen” (violin), since the framework of literary and musical writing invites us to read the alphabetical texts as autonomous works, but also invites us to interpret the music as a sound representation that arises, in turn, from the images that arise from literature, or simply to listen to it on the quadraphonic devices that are part of the exhibition and that transform it into a true installation.
Works such as Angelo Solari’s The Emerging Images take us to that joyful place where art offers starting points (and not points of arrival) from which it opens up interpretational possibilities that intersect and enrich each other.
